Jennifer Lawrence

Jennifer Lawrence has found a buyer for her luxurious Upper East Side penthouse—though the sale has come at a cost. The Joy star reportedly purchased the home for $15.6 million back in August 2016, and listed it for $15.45 million in July 2019. According to Top Ten Real Estate Deals, she quickly dropped the price down a few notches, landing on a $12 million asking price last November, though it’s currently unclear how much the penthouse actually ended up selling for.

The three-bedroom, four-and-a-half-bathroom unit spans 4,073 square feet, with an additional 3,000 square feet of outdoor space, and features all the trappings of luxurious Manhattan living, including a key-lock elevator and a private vestibule, 360-degree views of the city, and a sleek two-sided limestone fireplace that splits the great room in two. The entire dwelling boasts 12-foot ceilings, and the common living areas—including a formal dining area and two lounge spaces—are surrounded by nearly floor-to-ceiling windows with great views.

The kitchen was custom-built, with a large carved marble center island, snow-white cabinetry, and high-end appliances. The master suite takes up one corner of the home and boasts its own dressing room—previously a spare bedroom—as well as two master bathrooms.

It opens directly onto the enviable two-story outdoor space, which features a lounge space and dining area on the lower level and an upper level with a full kitchen, built-in grill, sink and refrigerator, gas fireplace, and a built-in ping-pong table. The building’s shared amenities include a fitness center with a lap pool, a full-time concierge, a game room, a theater, and importantly, a paparazzi-proof garage.

Lawrence still maintains a condo in a celebrity-favorite apartment building in Tribeca, though she has hardly lived there at all since she bought it in 2017, instead opting instead to rent it out for $27,500 a month.
